Murder in the Mountains The Muriel Baldridge Story eBook Michael Crisp
This was a poignant tragedy, with no closure at all for the family and friends of this poor innocent young girl. I never heard of so many confessions and retractions in one case. The author paints a clear picture of this small town, with its caring and talk, with many different stories, its particular place, the bootlegging and drinking. The story and author deserve more than 3 stars, but the book was very poorly put together by the publisher, or whoever printed it. Some lines were repeated, and what should have been printed there was left out. Pictures were cut in two with parts on different pages, along with other mistakes. Still, even with the obstacles, I enjoyed reading about these people, and felt a familiarity with them. Life in rural east Texas in the 40's was much like their little community. In the end, two modern-day experienced detectives tell what they think happened at the bridge. I believe their theory is right.Product details

Murder in the Mountains The Muriel Baldridge Story eBook Michael Crisp Reviews
I was really interested in this story. I could not put it down. The more I read the more I thought the real killer was going to be revealed. It kept me guessing until the end.
Don't want to give anything away but I wish that they were able to find out who did it.
Interesting however editing was weak and took away from the story. Too many typos and errors in repeating sentances.
This is such a sad story. I stay up late at night reading and this book was perfect for that. Not too scary, not too boring. I recommend it!
Very interesting read for anyone from a small town. Its almost shocking to realize how differently crime investigations were conducted in the past vs. today's methods. It's nice to know that this beloved girl is still remembered.
If you are in to cold cases and unsolved mysteries, this story is rather intriguing. This a true story about the murder of Muriel Baldridge and the search for her killer. There is not a resolution at this point, but some rather convincing suspects. Enjoy
Growing up where the murder occurred, I have heard the story all my life. I've talked to many who knew her with most of them having passed on. Still there are a few very old ones still living. We always hoped to know who committed the awful crime but it seems that is not going to happen unless someone knows and will eventually tell. So sad.
